I still remember the day I heard your name. It was the first day of middle school. I've never heard of that name before. It's unique, "oh he could be my friend" that's what I said to myself. Honestly.
💜💜💜
I still remember that it turns out we're classmates. I found nothing in you but your bright personality, how you blend in so well with others, and you're so easy to laugh.
💜💜💜
I still remember when you're sitting behind me. Remember that time you were playing with my hair using my ruler, and one of our teacher teased you, saying "you know when a boy is playing with their girl friends hair, it means he like her, right?" And you stopped and we're both in rejection. Our excuse is the same "no ma'am. We're just friends. There's no way ew."
💜💜💜
I still remember the day I had a new phone. The first person I gave my number to was our classroom teacher, I saved her number and she's my first contact. Then suddenly, a new number called me after dinner.
"Hello. Who is this?"
"Hi, it's me! Your favorite classmate! Save my number, I should be the first one on your phone, okay?" It's you.
"How did you get my number?"
"I asked our classroom teacher. Anyway, did you do your homework?"
"No not yet, smarty-pants. I'm too lazy."
"Go work it out quickly, and don't hang up! Let's do it together!"
"No I can't. My mom will be mad if I'm on the phone at this time. Bye, I'll save your number right away! By the way, the first number is not you, it is our classroom teacher."
"Amongst our friends, I'm the first one hehe okay I'll text you then! Bye, see you tomorrow at school!"
💜💜💜
I still remember after our first call, you didn't bring it up to our friends, I just remember how you introduced me to some of the songs you liked. Well, it's not my cup of tea, but as a good friend, I listened to it anyway.
💜💜💜
I still remember the night after our first call, you called me again, right after dinner just like the day before. Asking the same question, homework.
"Did you finish your homework???"
"WE HAD HOMEWORK?????"
"No haha I'm teasing you. What are you doing? I'm alone at home with my sister so I can use my phone."
"Oh thank God. Just finished dinner, nothing much. Hang out with your sister then?"
"It's no fun at all. I'll probably just turn on the TV then."
"Okay then I'll hang up see yo-"
"Wait hold on! I found a very good James Bond movie later at 10! Can you watch it??"
"Uuh we'll see about that?"
"Great! Text me when you can, okay. Bye"
And you just hang up right away. Your voice sounds like a smiley one. I bet you were excited about the movies.
💜💜💜
I still remember after that, I was able to watch the TV so late, passed my curfew. I don't know why, at that time. Then I texted you. "Made it to the TV! Where can I watch it?"
Then my phone rings.
"Go to Channel 15! It's almost time!"
"Okay wait... Hold on. It's on 11? I need to sleep!"
"It's just an hour, c'mon I'm bored!"
"Ugh fineeee. I'll hang u-"
"No, don't hang up. Watch with me."
"O..okay."
The movie starts. I was watching in my brother's room, with his permission, of course. The movie is good, I have never watched James Bond before. In every censored part, you were laughing so hard and told me to close my eyes. Silly.
"YOU'RE STILL WAKE UP IT'S SCHOOL NIGHT WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHO IS IN THE PHONE??"
"IT'S MY FRIEND OH MY GOD YOU STARTLED ME! GO AWAY!"
It's your sister. I was holding my laugh at that time because I didn't want to wake my brother up. But that was funny as hell.
"Hey uhm I'm sorry but I guess we need to end our movie night and sleep or my sister would snitch and tell my dad about it."
"Haha okay, thanks for the movie night, by the way. See you tomorrow. Bye."
"Before you hang up, can you keep this movie night a secret? Don't tell our friends about it?"
"Sure! No problem." Well, you probably don't want to call all of our friends and have a movie night and your parents will be mad for the overused phone bills, that's what I thought.
"You're the best! Sleep tight!"
I never had any good sleep but that night in my entire life.
💜💜💜
I still remember the next morning I felt like I couldn't wake up at all, but still managed to wake up early so I could go to school earlier and sleep for a bit before the class starts. My mom was so confused, she asked,
"Why are you still sleepy? You were in your room by 9, right?"
"Yeah but my friend called and asked for a movie night. I didn't know that James Bond's movie was so good, mom!"
"Who called you in the middle of the night for a movie night?"
"It's a friend, he's my classmate."
"Oh a HE. Just don't let your dad know this or he'll take your phone. Go finish your dinner and take a bath."
"Okay mom, thanks for the food!"
💜💜💜
I still remember once I arrived, I was resting my head on my desk, in an empty room. It was so cold so I just curled myself and managed to close my eyes for a bit. Then a cheerful voice comes up to me.
"Morning! You're still sleepy? Did you finish the movie without me? Oh cheater."
"Morning. No I never sleep later than 9 so I'm sleepy right now"
"Oh I'm so sorry. I'm sleepy too by the way."
You went to your desk, and rested your head on your desk too. That should be heartwarming, but the silly innocent me didn't realize that feeling.
