I still remember after that day, the first grader who admired you kept talking to me, telling me how handsome you are. Every. Single. Day, as if she needs to remind me how good looking you are.

“I just saw him in the field yesterday with his friends!” she said “he’s so cool how can you leave someone that cool? If I were you, I would never un-like him.”

I’m pretty sure I answered her with laughter only but I really want to tell her that I’m lying to myself right now.

She sat with me every time we had a journalist team meeting. She still needs some assistance, or at least that’s what I say because she wants to sit with me and talk about you while admiring you. I later became friends with her best friend too, since she knew I knew the secret they shared with each other.

“Hi nice to meet you, sorry if my friend is bothering you so much.” she apologized for her friend’s feelings, that’s cute.

“No, that's fine. I was holding everything by myself so I don’t want her to feel that way too.”

Both of them were so nice, I saw my reflection on her, well she didn’t have to face the hatred you threw at me back then, at least.

I still remember the day for the school’s competition. We were so busy, I didn’t really pay any attention to you, I guess you did the same. But unfortunate things always come not at the right time. I got very sick the day before, and it was because I was too tired and feeling nauseous, you know the feeling when you’re about to attend something big then all of the sudden you want to throw up. I’m an introvert and anxiety is my friend. The news of me getting sick spread around pretty fast, it reached you.

I took a day off the day before the competition, so I could get a full rest. But then my phone is disturbing my peaceful nap.

“Why are you not coming? Did you tell someone to bring the research to school? Where are you? You’re nowhere during lunch and not in the library either?”

You’re so annoying that day.

“Hello, good day sir. I’m not feeling good right now and the research paper has been in your drawer since yesterday, and no I’m not in the school.” I said to you sarcastically.

Then I continued, “why are you looking for me anyway we’re not in the same group?”

“Yeah… but as a friend I should be worried.” a silence, “are you telling me that a friend couldn’t be worried for their friend? Oh gosh you’re so rude!”

If I’m feeling quite well that day I will snap the heck outta you, but you’re lucky I’m pretty sick.

“Okay that’s it I’m hanging up.”

“Wait wait! Do you need something? Maybe soup? Or porridge?”

“Oh no I don’t want to get food poisonous. Bye.”

“No wait wait I’m serious. Do you need anything?” you asked, seemed serious.

“Uh maybe a porridge from Maccas, fries, and a box of spicy chicken drums will be nice.” I said this jokingly, since I know you wouldn’t come here and deliver everything by yourself.

“No, yeah you can just eat instant ramen I don’t care bye.” then you hang up.

That was annoyingly funny.

Then I continue my peaceful nap without even took everything we both said seriously

…

“Hi baby, are you feeling better now?” My mom wakes me up.

I felt like I only had a 5 minutes nap.

“Pretty good mom, what time is it?” I checked on my phone, yup, 30 minutes after our call.

“Sorry, I had to wake you up. Your friend just came here and gave you this.”

She gave me a bag full of 2 bowls of Maccas’ porridge, 2 packs of large fries, and a box of spicy chicken drums.

“He said “hello ma’am I’m your daughter’s movie night buddy and here’s my apology for interrupting her every night last year, and an apology to you too for disturbing you the other day.” I was about to ask him but then I remembered, Is that the boy I scolded?” she said while preparing my extra lunches.

“Oh gosh I thought he was joking! He just called me and asked if I wanted something and I said I want all of these, mom.”

“Oh that’s a sweet of him.” then she pauses, “you guys are not dating, right?”

“NO MOM OH MY GOD NO”

“Okay okay I’m just asking, you’re still a second grader anyway. I leave your food here, eat up and get more rest, okay.” she kissed my forehead and left.

…

I called you after she left.

“You’re welcome.” you said.

“How did you get my address? Why are you doing this? Hello, we’re not friends anymore?” I was quite mad that time.

“Can you just eat up and get well as fast as you can since tomorrow is the big day?”
